This was a multi-million dollar project we contracted to Tamworth council to construct. Council had specified equipment from multiple suppliers and engaged us to install all the equipment in the park including softfall to several areas. Building on the slopes of a levee bank was very challenging with such a large structure ensuring all the levels and set outs were accurate. The team got it spot on and the structures were craned into place as per plans. This is a high use Regional Park for all abilities with bike tracks, giant slides, carousels and a multitude of different play activities and natural creek beds.
This was large signature playground with a custom Hula Hoop tower and Spaghetti loop structure as the showpieces. A very challenging build due to the odd shaped steel components testing the team’s skill with dogging and crane work. The area also included a bike track and fitness area together with smaller interactive musical items for all user age groups and abilities.
This playground recently won the prestigious 2022 Australian Institute of Landscape Architects (AILA)
A playground that looks like tree trunks coming out of the ground with a cubby house on top! Great quality product from a German manufacturer that fits in well with the tree scape surrounding it. As with most products the instructions on “how to build” was very light on information, so it was a quick brainstorm with the crew to work out the best and safest way to build this awkward unstable product until the concrete set. Looks fantastic and has some smaller water play and interactive elements to balance the area out for most age groups.
Another first in Australia for Star Structures. We build first and ask questions later. This was a different build to our usual suspects being a more enclosed playground style. Quoting from limited drawings but understanding the key principles of building we managed to get this up on time and on budget. The big challenge on this project is that we needed a crane to lift the parts in however were unable to get even a crawler crane in due to limited access. More proof that there is nothing the team can’t build and always nice to hear that it was the first one built in the Southern hemisphere.
Always a challenge building custom items from a concept drawing and nutting through all the issues and tight fall zones to make a compliant, fun and unique playground. This iconic train fits in with the history of the area and the old Log Cabin hotel. Concrete slabs were set out, formed up and poured by the team then the train and caboose were craned into position. Several other items went into the playground to make this a well-used area and an asset to the new local Hotel. It’s a great pleasure to come here for a drink now it’s open and look at what you can achieve with workers with a wide range of skills.

Safety and Security
This is our passion. We want children to enjoy the formative years of their lives and feel free to explore. Playgrounds have always been a crucial component of this. This is where they follow their curiosities, test their physicality, play and make friends. It is our responsibility to keep this space safe and free from undue risks.
Up-to-date TRIAX 2015 System
The TRIAX 2015 System is the trusted system/brand used in testing the playground safety compliance, specifically with the AS 4422:2016, Playground Surfacing: Specifications, among other regulatory requirements. Rolf Huber, the global leader in undersurfacing standards, personally trained and certified Russell and Samantha Neumann in the use of this state of the art system.
UTS-Trained Experts
Russell and Samantha Neumann lead the team. The partners are both UTS-trained to the highest level by Professor David Eager, a leading Australian expert in playground safety and testing.

Passion for Childs’ Play and Safe Space
For us at Star Structures, it is about our children’s safety. We got into the industry because it is our passion; we want children to grow and live full lives, without undue risks and fear.
